Weaving is probably one of the most historic and well-developed arts in Latin-American pre-Colombian cultures and has now become a large and valuable industry.

In Colombia the textile tradition is widely and expertly represented in the different regions of the country, reflecting its variety of climates and cultures. The most typical products found are hammocks and mochilas (bags) from aboriginal origin.
